My father picked up this lighter during his tour in 1965 (commanded Motor Transport out of DaNang) but I believe the lighter is older than 1965 (see picture). I think it was made in the 1950s but I am not sure. I carried it there during my tour in 1968/69. (three purple hearts as a 0331).

Hi Rolf, I sent you a email with the complete short history of the lighter. My father bought it  on his tour in Vietnam when he commmanded a motor tranport unit in Danang. in 1964/65. I got it from him and had it when I was there 1968/69 S.W. of Danang with Delta Co. 1sr Mar Div, mostly on Hill 41. Ted
