hello..
thankyou for your quick response..i am planning to mail your zippo lighter before the end of this week...to the name and address below... i wanted to let you know that the V.W.S. on your lighter stands for Vernon Wayne Seybold..
thanking you,

hello rolf
yes, i know the former owner of the lighter...Verne still lives in this area (concord, n.h.)...he belongs to the National Guard here...
I really don't know about his military career in Vietnam...except that he did his full duty there and came home in one piece.  He was best friends with a guy named wayne provencher...they did basic training together at fort jackson, south carolina, here in the states...then soon after, they got shipped to vietnam......i went "out" with wayne during my junior and senior year of high school...wayne and verne were one year ahead of me...so i was a senior...when they were in vietnam....wayne was killed there on may 10th, 1968....about six months into his stunt there......verne gave me the lighter when his duty was done,. around 1969 maybe. i really appreciated it when he gave it to me, and for many years after that......but, its been in a desk draw...and its time for it to have a new owner...(.i still have photos and my memories...)
thanks for your interest...
best to you,
ceil
